The year is 1944 and it's the height of World War II. It's a cold bitter October morning in a far off dangerous place. Allied Forces have recently stormed the beaches at Normandy liberating most of France. Operation "Cobra" was a complete success paving the way for an all out offensive into Belgium. The scene has been set for Operation "Queen" to begin at Hurtgen Forest and the push towards the Siegfried Line has begun. Air bombardments and ground forces have done what they can, now it's your turn to help out in the fight.
In Battle Tanks, you'll take command of an M4 Sherman tank. A 35 ton behemoth which cruises at a top speed of 25 mph and sports a hefty 75mm cannon. Your job is to push through Germany in your M4 Sherman destroying enemy tanks, weapons factories, bunkers and whatever else gets in your way to Berlin. But don't get too overconfident! Those Panzers, Panthers and Tiger tanks are bigger, faster and can shoot farther than you. Quick wits, solid outflanking maneuvers and a steady aim are your only hope of success. Make it to Berlin though and you're sure to win the Congressional Medal of Honor for bravery above and beyond the call of duty!
Along the way you'll find many power ups to aid you in your quest as you seek out weapon caches, communication centers and chemical depots. Whether its a quick armor repair, an extra boost in your firing capability or extra lives, every little bit will help. You can earn extra points while searching for stashes of gold and paintings. And be on the lookout for downed pilots who may need rescuing! Earn enough points and you just might get promoted to General while earning top honors on the High Score page!
